Movie weekends...

Last week I have seen the film THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND starring Forrest Whitaker and James McAvoy. It’s really a good film. I wasn’t quite expecting that there were more people who will come to watch the film since I haven’t heard or seen any advertisements of the movie (given the fact that I got no TV in my room). As the film started, I find the story very interesting. And realized how horrible it is living in Africa back then especially when it was ruled by then President of Uganda, Amin.

After a week, we went out again for a movie, as we learned that Leo DiCaprio’s movie BLOOD DIAMOND is also out in the cinema. Again, since no advertisement on TV’s I have seen, only those I have seen in posters of the newspaper. I am really not excited to see the film. But as it started, it really caught me. How Africans kill each other for the sake of diamonds. I know how precious diamond is, how it is really costly in the market, and how they say ladies loves diamonds. But if you see the film, you’ll really feel sad and leave you wondering how hard life it is for some ordinary Africans, who are being enslaved, mostly separated from their own family, worst is their child will be brainwashed and turn into a baby killer or a child soldier.

Seeing both these films, I started not to really like going to Africa. Well, not so. Guess I think it’s just scary?
